Peppol wächst weltweit
Was als europäisches Projekt für die öffentliche Beschaffung begann, ist heute ein globales Netzwerk. Peppol wird längst nicht mehr nur für Rechnungen an Behörden genutzt, sondern auch im Handel zwischen Unternehmen.
Aktuell hat OpenPeppol Mitglieder in über 40 Ländern. In 23 Ländern gibt es eine eigene nationale Peppol-Behörde, die die Einführung im jeweiligen Land steuert. Frankreich kam zuletzt im Juli 2025 hinzu, im Zuge der dortigen B2B-Pflicht ab 2026. Peppol-Dokumente werden mittlerweile in mehr als 60 Ländern ausgetauscht.
Der Trend ist eindeutig: Immer mehr Länder machen Peppol zum Teil ihrer gesetzlichen E-Rechnungs-Vorgaben. Wer einmal angebunden ist, erreicht Geschäftspartner weltweit über eine einzige Verbindung.

Derzeit gibt es OpenPeppol-Mitglieder in über 40 Ländern, davon rund 32 in Europa, dazu unter anderem Australien, Kanada, China, Indien, Japan, Mexiko, Neuseeland, Singapur und die USA.
